internetbrowser 300x170 How to Market your Blog by Regular Commenting
You and I know the importance of Comments. A foundational advice to bloggers is to comment on other blogs especially those related to theirs. This helps to bring traffic to your blog and build links to it as well. It helps to build links to your blog as well as bring traffic. The one thing many bloggers do not know is that it helps in marketing your blog too.

If you see generating traffic and marketing as one and the same, it means you need to brush up more on your marketing because they are not. Understanding the true meaning of marketing is necessary to help you market your blog better. Marketing is an art. The art of building a genuine relationship with your blog reader and creating then going ahead to create an identity or brand in their psyche. Traffic generating is a consequence of effective marketing.

4 Ways to Market Your Blog with Comments

There are many different ways to market your blog ranging from free ways to buying adverts on major platforms like Yahoo! or Google. As a new internet-earner, you will be better off starting to market your blog using the free methods. Commenting is definitely one of the easiest and less time consuming methods. We are humans have a natural instinct to give advice – whether we know what we are saying or not, criticise or just make our opinion heard and these make commenting a very easy thing to do. Commenting can be quite effective for blog marketing if you have something of worth to say. Comments like “Great post!” or “I quite agree” etc do not do any good to your blog.

Like I said earlier, marketing is all about building relationships and having a unique identity, so remember these basic points while using comments to market you blog:

Link to your Landing Page. Commenting on blogs allows leaving your website URL. Majority of us use our blog URL. As an internet-earner, I would advise that you use a Landing Page instead. So if you do not have on, now you know what to do. When I say a landing page, I am not referring to a sales page. Create a new page in your blog specially set up just to market you blog – a welcome page where you tell about yourself, your blog and provide some valuable information. You may include your Feeds link or Newsletter form in it.

Use your Name/Blog Name. You can either market you name or the blog name. I suggest you use a blog name only if it is unique and not generic. For instance, if your blog name is called earn on the internet or make money online, use your name instead. Make money online or earn on the internet is so general. The choice is yours though. Be consistent with whichever name you use to leave comment.

Include your regular email. By regular, I mean the email address you use everyday – preferable on that has your name or blog name in it. Have no worry about sharing this email, nobody will spam you.

Make proper commentsThis should have been my number point as I think it is most important. Reread the comment you’re about to post on carefully and before that READ THE POST itself. Nothing is more damaging than posing a wrong or incongruent comment on a blog. Also use about 4-5 lines while commenting and provide quality comment.

These listed points above will build an identity for you on the blog you commented on especially if you do so regularly. I emphasize again that you need to build a relationship and create an identity. If the blog own replies to your comment, know that he has noticed you which is good because most blog owners moderate comments before they allow it to appear on their blogs. Write catchy and useful comments.

Below are tips on how to leave better comments on any blog:

  1. Know the blog niche quite and be generous with your insights.
  2. When you disagree with a point on a blog, counterattack the point in a mature and respectful manner.
  3. If you agree with a point, support and add more value to it.
  4. When you do not understand the post or a question, ask questions to make it clearer to you.
  5. If you don’t have anything to say, wait for few comments to be posted and comment using their ideas as a basis.
  6. Now, I hope that with all the above points you can begin your journey to market your blog free of charge via commenting as you proceed on your quest to become an internet earner.
