Using the Right Tactics To Grow Your Blog?
By olusegunBlogs have been designed to grow with ease as long as do your layout properly and you upload content regularly. Many bloggers are desperate to see their blogs grow fast and in the process use the wrongest of tactics. Another extreme is just to lay back.
Don’t be like many blog owners who start their blogs as an experiment. They create them, posting content and then lay back waiting to see what will happen. Unfortunately for them, without goals, it’s difficult to grow and profit from anything – including blogs.
Here are some tactics you can consider if you are looking at having a profitable blog:
Posts per month How many times do you post content in a month? Do you post constantly? One of the biggest causes of blogs remaining in obscurity is that they’re not updated with content regularly enough to improve search engine rankings which in turn makes your blog easier to find to new readers. Not posting regular content will certainly make your readers lose interest or not develop the habit of reading your blog every day.
Action Plan: Set a goal of one post daily and stick to it.
Data Processing Applied Information is a most powerful tool to use in building a profitable blog yet many internet earners don’t set aside time to frequently to analyze their data, process them into simple, powerful information (it’s simpler than you think) and then plan based on their findings.
For instance, if you notice that your debate related posts receive the most comments; this is alone that take your blog to the next level if you take advantage of this powerful information because you can then plan your content to include debate posts on a certain day of the week every week.
Action Plan: Set a goal to analyze your blog data weekly. Sign up for Google Analytics and have the data sent right to your email inbox making it easy to analyze and plan.
Incoming links A great way to drive traffic and readers to your blog which of course will result in driving advertising profits and affiliate income to it is to build incoming links. Become active in the blogosphere – post comments on relevant blogs; write a guest blog post; become an active social networker on Facebook, Twitter and Youtube (if you can make videos), make it easy for your readers to Digg or StumbleUpon your posts.
Action Plan: Find 3 blogs relevant to you. Set a goal of commenting on the three of them daily. Offer a blogger (preferably a peer…you want to grow at this believe me) to write one guest blog post a week and watch your profit gradually blossom.
Engaging your Readers A smart blogger will not only post regular content but respond to posts and e actively involved in the comment train until it cools off. Don’t just monitor comments; respond to great ones and don’t forget to say “Thank you” to your readers.
Action Plan: Read comments and reply to some (replying to every comment shows you are somehow desperate) and Say “Thanks”. It is so effective and it costs you nothing.
Organize a contest: As your readership grows, you need to add more tactics. For instance, we all like freebies. So don’t you say you will give the person with the highest value-adding comments a gift – say an iPod nano – every month? If you try this and it doesn’t work, call me a liar.
Action Plan: Thank your readers and tell them that the one with highest value adding comment would receive a gift every month.
