One Way Link Building
ByOver 100 link building strategies work and you can use any but I’d be sharing with you 7 highly effective one-way link building habits I have just learning from a pro.
The first thing I had to learn was that key is to test each of them and see the results. Usually a combination of a couple of techniques is the best option. As time goes by, you’ll find which ones give you the best SEO results.
#1: Quality Content
There isn’t any link building strategy more effective than the old, enduring formula of writing compelling contents that focus on the reader’s needs. Link-worthy contents with viral appeal incite people to comment, refer, recommend and link to. This is the science of linkbaiting.
It’s not easy to do but it’s going to be worth all your time and effort from top to bottom. Your content is basically a part of the most important branding assets you have.
#2: Commenting
Dennis Edell is the king of blog commenting.I always looks up to him when I need motivation to comment on blogs. Commneting builds connection with other bloggers; it is a primary source of direct traffic and incoming links. Get rid of the “they will come” mentality when you write content. Ignorance isn’t an excuse for not commenting as you should. Sometimes I am guilty of it too.
There is commenting etiquette. What you need to know first is that the key make relevant, value-added comments. Regular comments like “Great post!” ”Nice One.” “I agree with you!” are frowned at. They are obvious attempts to get backlinks.
#3 : Article Marketing
I love article marketing. It is still one of the best tactics to get traffic to your blog. It converts better than typical search traffic and gives contextual links back to your blog. You can script a killer article, submit it to Ezine Articles and watch your one-way incoming links explode magically.
I experimented with this tactic to build links to one of my niche sites and it has been good. Believe me link building doesn’t get much easier than that. Besides, article marketing and distribution is now very easy
#4:Guest Posting
Guest posting has huge benefits and it is a win-win situation. It’s an opportunity to reveal yourself before your host’s audience. Never underestimate it. Guest appearances up your profile as a blogger and you can have links back to your own site.
Note that guest posting not as effective as viral as article marketing, it is still effective. I do of guest posts and my subscribership increased.
#5: Forum Marketing
I’m just getting into forum marketing and I doubt if Google gives much value to forum signature links. They are not the best quality wise. It may be that the value of a link is directly proportional to how easy you get it. This is just my guess though. Even though forum links are much lighter in weight than contextual links, if they are dofollow, it’s worth the effort to build links with forum signature anyway.
#6: Contest
Contests are just being resuscitated again. This link building tactic is still worthy of mention. Done right, it can go viral and send links to your blog and it’s a win-win game for everyone involved.
#7: The Power of Linking Out
Finally, the last link building tactic is to link out to others to attract links. Sometimes, if you link out first, others return the good act. The golden rule is to link out to the relevant blogs that add valuable information resources to your readers.
Linking building is not brain surgery. Minimum effort is required on your part but you do not always get the attention of those you link out to.

Summary
The science of Link building is time-consuming and requires a lot of consistency, patience and the right links.
Jim Boykin wrote on his blog: “Getting a few of the right links, from the right places can be more valuable than getting 100 links from the wrong places”.
These 7 habits of building links will bring your blog closer to the top of search engine rankings. You will be awarded with that coveted Page Rank status. If you like this article, you can link to me!

Great list, Olusegun
I just started article marketing and am enjoying some success with it. You’re right about the traffic – it’s been great so far.
Commenting is the easiest way to build links back to your site
I have to do more guest posting as I’ve seen that method work wonders.
I’m on some forums and don’t see any traffic coming from them, but that’s okay, I’m learning a lot and networking with other bloggers.
I agree that having quality content is the key component to building traffic. Without that, no one will come or stay on your site.

Olusegon,
I’m just getting started with all this and find your information very helpful. I actually think Forum Marketing is more about establishing yourself in the community than just getting back links. I have a series up right now on Forum Marketing and I’m running a contest as well.

I have only recently started to put a serious amount of effort into getting people to visit my blog. I relied on the “they will come mentality”, which worked to a certain extent, but if I want to get my blog to the top of the mountain I have start doing some of these things mentioned here…
