All that really means is that a product or service is being sold to the people who are most interested in that particular product or service and not to the world in general.

In spite of this, these personal web pages were static like notice boards – the owner could post information about himself or his interests for others to read and that was it. It was one way communication all the way. Online journals were ‘read only’.

But man is to grow by Nature’s Law and technology evolved. Blogging software was developed. And owners of personal websites could about themselves and allow visitors to comment on what had been posted or ask questions – a huge advancement.

Merry Christmas!!

I was thinking back on the last decade and I was shocked at how things have changed so much. I’d just take you back about 10 years. Enjoy the ride!

The dot com bubble burst in the fall of 2001. And you dear reader belong to one of these three categories – those who witnessed it, the victims of it or those who heard about it.

I was in my fourth year in the university in Nigeria then and was trying to catch by browsing on extra slow and expensive internet or by buying Fortune magazine a month after their release as my vendor could not get them earlier. During those times, fortunes that had been made overnight were lost overnight!

In May, I started using it actively and gradually developed more interest. I now believe Twitter can be adopted for all types of lifestyles, busy or inactive. All you have to do is just integrate it within your normal workflow. It’s addictive but once you understand how to use it, it is an effective tool indeed.

This helps to bring traffic to your blog and build links to it as well. It helps to build links to your blog as well as bring traffic. The one thing many bloggers do not know is that it helps in marketing your blog too.

If you see generating traffic and marketing as one and the same, it means you need to brush up more on your marketing because they are not. Understanding the true meaning of marketing is necessary to help you market your blog better. Marketing is an art. The art of building a genuine relationship with your blog reader and creating then going ahead to create an identity or brand in their psyche.
